EH raise dog track concerns

English Heritage have expressed concerns over London & Quadrant’s plans to redevelop the site of Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium.

EH are reported to have written to LB Waltham Forest raising concerns over design and build issues, but stopping short of suggesting refusal.

THe EH letter says that while the organisation welcomes the reduction in the height of the blocks next to the former entrance, they “remain concerned about the massing in the centre of the site with relation to the setting of the listed buildings”, and “the juxtaposition of scales next to the listed kennels provided by the proposed part-eight storey building.”

L&Q’s proposals would produce 294 homes on the dog track site, and have already been substantially revised following consulation.
